“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand.” – John 10:28

If you think about it, magicians are pretty incredible. They craft ways to make people’s minds lie to them. They perform things that we know to be impossible, but somehow, we believe it. No one can saw a person in half and put them back together again. And yet, when we see it on stage, our minds question reality and want to believe the lie. Nothing can change the laws of nature and physics…except our own imagination.

Passages like John 10:28 and Romans 8 make it abundantly clear that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love or snatch us out of his hand…nothing but our minds. True, it is just our imaginations…our mind separating us from reality…but it feels very real at the time. We can trick ourselves into thinking that God has stopped loving us or that he has let us go. This does not change reality, but it does change our peace, our joy, and our outlook on life. That is why we must live every moment in light of Scriptural Truth and not be fooled by feelings. The truth is, once God has snatched you from hell and adopted you as his child, nothing will ever change your place in heaven or his eternal love for you. So don’t let your imagination fool you into questioning that unchangeable reality.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for being more powerful than our fickle hearts. Thank You for solidifying our eternal salvation through Your perfect, unending love. Don’t let our weak minds fool us into thinking that reality has somehow changed. Lead us by the power of Your perfect Truth and never let us fall victim to our sinful imaginations.
