“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus, because the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death.” – Romans 8:1-2

I have an uncle who is an excellent mechanic. When I am working on my cars, I often give him a call to ask for advice. There are certain things I know I am not doing quite right, but I am not sure how to fix it without some help. As helpful as the phone calls are, however, nothing is as good as when he comes by my house and takes a look at my project. The reason is, he often finds things I have not done right, and I didn’t even realize it. He often gives me great advice that I didn’t even know I needed.

In our lives, we all have sins that we know well. These are the sins we usually bring to God and ask him to forgive us. However, have you thought about the sins you are not even aware of? Have you ever stopped to think that there are probably a lot of things you are messing up that you didn’t even realize? What about the sins we never ask for forgiveness for? When you think about that, I hope you immediately think of Romans 8:1-2. There is NO condemnation for those who are in Christ. Even for the sins we are unaware of. I hope that you continue to grow closer to Christ and he continues to reveal those places in your life that need improvement. But I also hope you never live in fear that his sacrifice will not cover even the unknown sins. His salvation is big enough for every sin, known or unknown!

Heavenly Father, I thank You that Your plan of salvation through Jesus Christ covers every sin. I praise You that condemnation no longer exists for me once I am in Christ. Show me my hidden and unknow sins so I can continue to become the child that You desire me to be. But never let me live in fear that those hidden sins will somehow take me out of Your hands.

In Christ’s Service,

Pastor Shane Cannon
