“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” – Luke 16:10

Have you ever been asked, “what have you been up to lately?”, and felt that you didn’t have an impressive answer? Sure, you have probably worked hard and been busy. You have probably accomplished quite a bit…but nothing impressive. Sometimes I feel like we are pressured to have some large accomplishment to show others. And sometimes, as followers of Christ, we feel like we need great victories to share during those “what’s God doing in your life” times.

A much better question is, “have you been faithful?” Not all of us are called to do “big things” at every point in our Christian walk. The truth is, our Heavenly Father looks for faithfulness in the little things. Are you serving Him every day in every opportunity? Are you being faithful with the talents, money, and relationships he has put in your life? Because the truth is, faithfulness in the small things is a clear indicator of the likelihood you will be faithful in the big things. And conversely, those who are less than faithful to God’s calling to use your talents, money, and relationships for His purposes in the everyday things are sure to lack faithfulness in the big things as well.

Heavenly Father, give us the wisdom to see that there are no meaningless or unimportant days in our walk with You. Open our eyes to see that every little thing is an opportunity to be faithful and trustworthy.

In Christ’s Service,
Pastor Shane Cannon
