“I pray that he may grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with power in your inner being through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, and to know Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” – Ephesians 3:16-19

I spend time praying for my wife, my children, my church, and my world. I pray for protection, wisdom, healing, and many blessings. But in Ephesians chapter three I find a prayer that I have often failed to pray. As I look at the current state of the country and the Church, I see evidence that this prayer has been forgotten by more than just myself. So, today I pray that we would know God’s love…that we would have a better understanding of how long, wide, high, and deep his love is. I believe our inner being is strengthened when our understanding of God’s love is deepened. We all need strength in these trying times. That strength should be founded in God’s love.
