“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom.” – James 3:13
The idea of wisdom contains action. Wisdom is not simply knowledge about something or the ability to understand. Wisdom is not truly wisdom until it is expressed in action. So how do we learn wisdom? Well, it should not surprise us that gaining wisdom also takes action. Proverbs 13:20 tell us; “He who walks with the wise grows wise.” Wisdom cannot simply be gained from a book, a class, or a sermon. If you want to be wise, find someone who is living in wisdom and begin to walk with them. Because, until wisdom expresses itself in your daily actions, it is not truly wisdom. Lord, lead us to the people who are wise, and then teach us wisdom as we walk through life together with them.
