Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” – Matthew 6:34 (The Message)

One of the most effective tactics of Satan is to get us so worried about things down the road that we are oblivious to what God is doing right here and now. So often we want God to shine His bright light long into the future so we can see how everything is going to work out, when all the while God simply wants us to walk faithfully with Him one step at a time. That is why Psalm 119:105 says “Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” God has great wisdom and direction for you right here and now. He leads us step by step. And the beautiful truth is, when we walk every small step in His will, we will remain on the path and end up at the destination He has for us, even though we do not know what that will look like or where that will be. But isn’t this what it truly means to walk by faith and not by sight? Father, give us the faith to stay wholly focused on what You are doing in our lives right here and now in this moment, and wholeheartedly follow You step by step.
