“Remain in me, and I in you. Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit by itself unless it remains on the vine, neither can you unless you remain in me.” – John 15:4

Have you ever felt like you are just spinning your wheels? You struggle and strive, but you just can’t move forward. Or have you ever felt like you’ve come to the place you thought would make you happy, but you still feel unfulfilled? Why does this happen? What exactly is it that is going to accomplish satisfaction in us? Well, the answer is this: You will never be satisfied with who you are unless you remain connected to the one who gives you life.

Staying connected to the one who gives life means that you will be content in whatever growth he sees fit to accomplish in you. Charles Spurgeon once said, “Live near Jesus, Christian, and it is a matter of secondary importance whether you live on the mountain of honor or the valley of humiliation.” True contentment comes from being close to Jesus. It is in him that we find life and peace in each and every situation. You are guaranteed to become all you are meant to be as long as you stay connected to the giver of abundant life. Therefore, make that connection your first priority in life. Above all else, seek to strengthen your connection to Jesus today.

Lord we earnestly seek You. We want to make You our first priority each and every day. As we grow close to You we ask that You give us peace, satisfaction, and security in every station of life.

In Christ’s Service,

Pastor Shane Cannon
