“For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones.” – Proverbs 2:6-8
This world is an incredibly difficult place to navigate. There are so many opinions, so many sides to take, and so many voices claiming they are in the right. Making the right decision and choosing the right path in any given situation is incredibly important. It often has far reaching consequences for us and for the people we love. How can we walk safely through the minefield of this modern world?
The second chapter of Proverbs gives us the answer to that question. Wisdom and knowledge come from the Lord. If we are going to successfully navigate this world, then the ability to do so is going to come from the One who created this world and rules over it. All the things we desire in life; victory, protection, and guidance; come from seeking the Lord and drawing close to Him. He is the only One who knows the path to living this life victoriously. And He has opened up that path to each and every one of us through Jesus Christ.
Father forgive us for the times we try to navigate this complex world by our own knowledge and power. Give us the wisdom to seek You in the small things, the big things, and everything in between.
